🛩️ Documents You Must Have On Board
To keep things safe, legal, and stress-free, every pilot should make sure the following documents are on board before take-off, as per Part 91.03.1 of the SACAA Civil Aviation Regulations:
👨✈️ Pilot Documents
- Valid Pilot Licence (with the right ratings)
- Current Medical Certificate
✈️ Aircraft Documents
- Certificate of Registration (C of R)
- Certificate of Airworthiness (C of A) or Authority to Fly (for NTCA aircraft)
- Radio Station Licence (if fitted with a radio)
- Certificate of release to service
- Noise Certificate (if applicable)
- Aircraft Flight Manual / Pilot’s Operating Handbook (AFM/POH)
- A list of visual signals and procedures for use by intercepting and intercepted aircraft
- Current Weight & Balance report
- Journey Logbook / Flight Folio
- Minimum Equipment List (if applicable)
🛡️ Other Essentials
- Proof of Aircraft Insurance (third-party liability cover)
- Any additional special permits or clearances needed for your flight
